Buzzient is a small and growing startup in Boston’s Innovation District. Developers work on the entire stack from database to user interface so don’t be shy. We work with massive data sets, NLP algorithms, server deployment, automation, system admin tools, API interaction, testing tools and web scraping among other areas. At Buzzient, you will know each member of the team from intern to CEO. The org chart doesn’t go up 7 levels.

Our Platform and Process

Our server-side code is written in Python, while our client-side code is a combination of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.  Our code is WSGI-compliant, and makes use of the Werkzeug framework.  Our servers as well as development machines run Linux, most dev is done running Fedora. We use jQuery as our Javascript library of choice. Our DB is MySQL and we use Redis to speed things up a bit. Selenium and Buildbot are used as part of our testing framework. We use Github for version control and task management. We built our own VPN box using open source software. We don’t outsource any of our sentiment algorithms and social media harvesting (unlike the competition.) We automated our deployment infrastructure to Amazon EC2 but we are looking to add other providers into the mix. We once fired up 1000 Buzzient instances just to see how it would feel. The Sales Consultant works as a team with the sales and partner organizations to drive revenue for the company. This role includes extensive discussion and demonstration interaction with customers, prospects and partners. Internal interactions with Buzzient support and services, development and marketing will also be key. The Sales Consultant must be experienced at communicating solution value for customer business needs. Both business and technical skills are required. The candidate must possess high energy and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure startup environments. We’re moving at light speed so you must be able to learn quickly, have a passion for detail and work well in team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the sales and partner teams in pre-sales activities
• Participate in discovery sessions and deliver compelling solution presentations and demonstrations based on findings
• Provide technical expertise in sales opportunities
• Develop extensive knowledge of the Buzzient application and integrations
• Act as a conduit between the sales and technical organizations

Requirements

We’re looking for that special hybrid of strong technical chops and exceptional communication
skills to join our team as a Support Engineer.

As a Support Engineer you’ll troubleshoot at the database and code level, create and manage
customer, partner and demo systems, engage with users to solve issues and answer questions,
and work closely with both the development and sales teams.

You’ll be responsible for becoming the expert in all aspects of our integrations and applications.
As such, both technical and communication skills are critical. The candidate must have a desire
to be involved in a fast-paced, high-pressure startup environment; be able to learn quickly;
possess outstanding attention to detail and work well in team collaboration.

Responsibilities
